| Restaurants in Auckland, New Zealand
While Auckland certainly has its share of traditional sit-down eateries, there are two things that are particularly unique to Auckland. The first is their passion for sidewalk cafes. Cafe culture in Auckland is huge, and entire streets are dedicated to these places. Kiwis love to spend an afternoon, sipping tea and chatting with friends while watching the eclectic population pass by.
The second is no surprise, considering the parks and green spaces that make up so much of Auckland – picnicing! As one travel writer said, the Kiwis have practically elevated the picnic to an art form. Signs advertising "takeaway" service dot the city scape, offering residents of this lovely city another opportunity to indulge themselves in their beautiful surroundings.
